Sevenars Summer Concerts 2022

Welcome to the 54th Anniversary season of Sevenars!
Six concerts at the Academy - Sundays, July 10th - August 14th at 4PM
 

This 2022 project is supported in part by the Cultural Councils of Acushnet, Agawam, Billerica, Charlemont-Hawley, Chesterfield, Buckland, Everett, Gardner, Hinsdale-Peru, Huntington, Lee, Middleborough, Middlefield, Montgomery, Revere, Russell, West Springfield, Wilbraham, and Worthington,  local agencies which are funded in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment of the Arts.

JULY 10th at 4PM: Opening Concert ~ Schrade and James Family and Friends
Schrade and James family members play music of Chopin, Schubert, and Liszt - joined by Special Guests Anita Anderson Cooper (composer/soprano) and Clifton J. Noble (composer/pianist) in World Premieres by these outstanding American composers!

JULY 17th at 4PM: Christopher James, cellist, and Luis Ortiz, pianist in music of Schubert, Schumann, Dvorak, Franck, and Villa-Lobos

JULY 24th at 4PM: Jiayan Sun, pianist in an all-Schubert Recital

JULY 31st at 4PM: Liana Paniyeva, pianist Schubert-Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Medtner, Lysenko, Kosenko, Chopin, and Schumann

AUGUST 7th at 4PM: Judith Lynn Stillman and Friends ~ Judith Lynn Stillman, piano ~ Rachel Braude, flute ~ Charles Dimmick, violin

AUGUST 14th at 4PM: The Bob Sparkman Triom~ Bob Sparkman, clarinet; Jerry Noble, piano; Kara Noble, bass

New mural at Corson pool in West Springfield
: West Springfield is counting on Mural Magic to help transform the public pool at Alice Corson Playground into a more popular destination.

This project is supported in part by a grant from the West Springfield Arts Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council for the Arts, a state agency.

2022 Tony Di Giore Scholarship Recipients

Tony Di Giore Scholarship


The West Springfield Arts Council proudly announces Jocelyn Coyne and Noah Guerra, 2022 West Springfield High School graduates, as the recipients of this year’s Tony Di Giore Scholarship.  


This scholarship is named in honor of Tony Di Giore, who served as the leader of the West Springfield Arts Council over the course of 50 years. 


Each year, the West Springfield Arts Council awards $500 scholarships to two high school seniors who will be majoring in the Arts such as Dance, Fine Arts, Music, Photography, Theater, and TV & Film.
