Saturday, May 13 ~ A VICTORIAN COURTSHIP TEA AT WEST SPRINGFIELD LIBRARY

Rita Parisi of Waterfall Productions will be hostess for A Victorian Courtship Tea at the West Springfield Public Library, 200 Park Street, West Springfield, on Saturday May 13th at 2 pm. During the time of Queen Victoria, the tradition of courtship was the only acceptable way young ladies and gentleman could get acquainted with each other. As the character of Mrs. Michael Gordon, a woman from 1908, Rita Parisi from Waterfall Productions will share with the audience the manner in which her husband courted her during the 1880’s, a time when romance was more the rule than exception.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the West Springfield Arts Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Rita Parisi has been entertaining audiences for more than 25 years. In 2002, she founded Waterfall Productions to create shows that highlight her passion for theatre, literature and costuming and storytelling; performing them in New England, New Jersey, New York and Florida. Rita Parisi is also actively involved in film and some of her films have been debuted at the Boston International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival. She is a proud member of the largest acting union in the country: SAG/AFTRA.

This program is free and open to the public. For more info or to register, visit the West Springfield Public Library Adult Services desk or call (413) 736-4561 x3

"Rita Parisi presents delightful performances of historic characters. It's clear how much research she does to bring characters to life, right down to the gloves and hats and the activities of daily life. I have attended a number of her performances, and whenever I hear she's doing a new one I make sure not to miss it! Highly recommend as an event for your club, historical society, or school." -Edith Maxwell, author of Quaker Midwife Mysteries
